Song Story

“Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed.” (Luke 1:46-48 NLT)

“My Soul Sings” originates from Mary’s Song of Praise in the Gospel of Luke. When an angel comes to Mary and tells her she’s been chosen to give birth to the Messiah, her heart bursts with joy, and she sings! This response should be an example for all believers.

Before the world was made, “God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure” (Ephesians 1:5 NLT). Like Mary, we are lowly servants, poor in spirit, and we are also chosen ones in Christ. He took notice of you and me!

I pray that, as the Holy Spirit makes this reality known to us, that our hearts would also burst with joy in praise of our Lord. So, sing with all your soul, for He took notice you.
