STORY

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this."

—Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV)

“Can You Hear The Sound” is a song begging for the believer to pay attention. In a world that is built on busyness and distraction, this song invites the listener to pay attention to the redemptive work Christ has done, is doing, and has promised to complete. Written from Isaiah Chapter 9, the song walks us through the birth of the promised Messiah, to the reality of His presence with us now through the Holy Spirit, to His return when He will finish the redemptive work.

“Can You Hear The Sound” is a song of hope for anyone who will believe. As hopeless as your circumstances may appear, redemption is singing underneath it all. The King is coming, and “of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end”! So, sit up! Pay attention! Stay alert! For no one knows the day or hour of His return, but we can take comfort and find joy in the reality that He will finish the work of redemption He has begun.

LYRICS

The virgin birth
We have a sign
Peace on earth has come

The Son is here
Hope is born
Peace on earth has come

Can you hear the sound
Can you hear the sound

Emmanuel
God with us
Peace on earth has come

Emmanuel
God with us
Peace on earth has come
Peace on earth has come

Can you hear the sound
Can you hear the sound
Redemption’s singing
The King is coming

Creation groans
Our hearts, they long
For peace on earth to come

Creation groans
Our hearts, they long
For peace on earth to come

The trump will sound
The dead will rise
Peace on earth will come

The trump will sound
The dead will rise
Peace on earth will come

Can you hear the sound
Can you hear the sound
Redemption’s singing
The King is coming
